2014 Canada-China Conference on Advanced Reactor Development

April 27, 2014 @ 12:00 am - April 30, 2014 @ 12:00 am

Contents

Background

Canada and China are pursuing advanced nuclear reactor designs with enhanced safety and improved performance.  The majority of design work focuses on the Gen-III (or Gen-III+) type of nuclear reactors, but an increasing effort has been invested in the new Gen-IV concepts and small reactors.  Canada and China have been collaborating in nuclear research and development (R&D) to advance technologies such as advanced fuel cycle, fuel development, materials, thermalhydraulics, and reactor safety. The 2014 Canada-China Conference on Advanced Reactor Development (CCCARD-2014) is aimed at providing a forum for discussion of advances and issues, sharing information and technology transfer, and establishing future collaborations on advanced nuclear reactor R&D between Canadian and Chinese research organizations.

The CCCARD-2014 will be of interest to those involved in advanced nuclear reactors design and R&D related to fuel, materials, chemistry, corrosion, thermalhydraulics, and safety analyses at organizations in Canada and China.  The official language of CCARD-2014 is English.
