Fuel Technologies Division

Mandate

The mandate of the Division is to promote communication, discussion and peer review by organizing conferences, seminars and courses to facilitate advances in CANDU fuel technologies, including:

- Fuel Design and Development
- Fuel Modeling
- Manufacturing and Quality Assurance
- Fuel Performance
- Fuel Safety
- Advanced Fuel Cycles
- Failed-Fuel Management
- Spent-Fuel Management.

Key Activities

Every two to three years, the Division organizes the International Conference on CANDU Fuel.  Ten of these major conferences have been organized, up to 2008.  In addition, the Division has organized courses on CANDU Fuel Technology.  The 10th International Conference on CANDU Fuel was held at the Delta Hotel in Ottawa, ON, 2008 October.
