Benefits Accruing to CNS Members
The CNS has retained the same membership fees, even with the advent of the HST!
- Belong to a Professional Society with its mandate in the area of your professional career
- Complimentary membership to full-time students in Canadian institutions; if CNS members in year of graduation, 50% discount on membership fees for next 2 years.
- Take advantage of many excellent opportunities to grow professionally by meeting and networking with colleagues in Canada and internationally

- Receive quarterly CNS Bulletin
- Receive earliest notification of CNS Courses and Conferences, Branch Seminars and other Programs

- Receive special member registration fees to CNS Conferences and Courses
- At Conferences organized by another Society (e.g., ANS) and co-sponsored by the CNS, take advantage of same fee as member of the organizing Society

Joining the CNS:
The Canadian Nuclear Society welcomes new members. What better way to stay up-to-date on developments in the nuclear industry in Canada! Membership is per calendar year.
For new 2012 memberships (starting now) to Dec 31, 2012, new members pay (HST included):
- $82.40 for regular members
- $48.41 for retirees, and
- $27.81 for students, but for 2012, the CNS Council has again approved waiving this fee for full-time students in a Canadian University or School, upon verification of this status by the student’s Professor or School.
For each additional year beyond 2012, if paid by 2011 Dec 31, fees for new regular members are only $77.25 and for new retiree members are only $43.26. For example, for 2011 + 2012 (if paid by Dec 31, 2011), new members pay (HST included):
- $159.65 for regular members
- $91.67 for retirees
We have also a couple membership for couples who live at the same address. The first member of the couple (labelled Couple A) pays the standard required amount, but the second member (labelled Couple B) receives a discount of $25 per year.

Renewing Members! If you have ever been a member of CNS, we have sent out an email (to the email address we have on file for you) with instructions on how to renew your membership. If you have not received this email or have changed your address please send your name, current email address, and CNS Member ID to and we will send you instructions on how to renew your membership. If you have received this email you can go to here and renew your membership.
- $97.85 for regular members for 2012 + $82.40 for each additional year 2013 - 2015,
- $58.71 for retirees for 2012 + $48.41 for each additional year 2013 - 2015, and

CNS Privacy Policy
The Canadian Nuclear Society has always treated its membership information with great care and discretion. It has now formally created a Privacy Policy to comply with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), the Canadian federal privacy law, which came into effect on January 1, 2004.
