ABSTRACT
Mr. Andognini's remarks will provide students and invited guests with current information about the new Ontario Power Generation Inc. and the significant role Nuclear must play for the company to succeed in the new competitive electricity market. Specifically, OPG's nuclear recovery program will be discussed. Our overall goal is to achieve top quartile performance among nuclear plants worldwide by 2003. Consecutive increases in the performance index are encouraging, as are productivity gains. The program will continue to improve our CANDU reactors, which offer many advantages over the U.S. light water reactors including on-line refueling and the use of inexpensive natural uranium. Mr. Andognini will also discuss potential employment opportunities with Ontario Power Generation Inc.
