The CNS International Speaker Exchange Program

The CNS is pleased to announce the initiation this year, of a new program entitled, The International Speaker Exchange Program.

The ‘Society has memoranda of understanding (MoU) with some 23 sister societies in other countries, agreements that cover such mutual interests as information exchange, as well as other forms of collaboration. It is within this frame that the ‘Program has been developed.

With the MoU between the CNS and the United Kingdom Nuclear Institute as the operative one, on October 30, Ms. Alys Gardner, will visit the ‘Society’s Branch in Saint John, New Brunswick, to speak to the Branch’s members and interested citizens on, “The United Kingdom’s Nuclear Industry Landscape – a UK Nuclear Institute Perspective”.

She will spend a full week in Canada on her speaking tour, stopping in order, after visiting Saint John, at the following Branches to deliver the same presentation: Chalk River (October 31); Ottawa (November 01); Toronto (November 02); Sheridan Park (November 03). Ms.Gardner will return to the UK on November 04.

Forming part of this exchange with the UKNI, an expert from the CNS will make a reciprocal visit to the UK and the UKNI during the spring of 2018.

Anyone wishing further information on either the overall ‘Exchange Program, or the specifics of Ms.Gardner’s speaking tour, should contact Ron Thomas at 613-415-2950, or via rthomas@storm.ca.
