13th International Topical Meeting on Nuclear Reactor Thermal-Hydraulics, Operation and Safety – cancelled

August 23, 2020 @ 12:00 am - August 26, 2020 @ 12:00 am

13th International Topical Meeting on Nuclear
Reactor Thermal-Hydraulics, Operation and Safety
(NUTHOS-13)

CANCELLATION NOTICE:

After discussions with various stakeholders, the 13TH INTERNATIONAL TOPICAL MEETING ON NUCLEAR REACTOR THERMAL-HYDRAULICS, OPERATION AND SAFETY (NUTHOS13) conference scheduled for Aug 23 – 26 at the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre, Vancouver, BC has been cancelled. The CNS regrets having to make this decision; however, the risk to holding a successful conference was too great.

Further discussion with stakeholders will continue to look for opportunities for the CNS to host NUTHOS in the future.

Possible impact on COVID-19 other CNS events planned for 2020 are considered daily. Further updates will be made as the situation unfolds.

Conference Objectives and Themes

This conference brings together persons from Asia, North America, South America and Europe who are engaged in the many areas of nuclear thermal hydraulics, as applied to existing and new nuclear power technologies.  The NUTHOS series of conferences have traditionally been rotated every two years between Japan, South Korea, China and Taiwan.  It was decided to bring the 2020 conference to the Pacific Coast of North America for the first time and the Canadian Nuclear Society volunteered to host the conference.

The conference will be held in the beautiful city of Vancouver which has consistently been recognized as one of the most beautiful and liveable cities in the world.

The conference organization is structured as a multinational effort with significant support from the Asian countries/region as well as Canada and the United States of America.

Conference Themes

The conference covers all the current thermal-hydraulic areas in nuclear research and development, as well as plant operational safety, maintenance, diagnostics and monitoring. Attendees will be able to report on challenges impacting the nuclear industry and share lessons learned from reviews, drills, and major exercises. The topics include:
