On Tuesday September 12, the Ottawa Branch of the Canadian Nuclear Society (CNS) is pleased to host Dr. Kathryn A. McCarthy, Vice-President, Research & Development, of Canadian Nuclear Laboratories. Dr. McCarthy will be giving a presentation on the 10-Year Plan for Science and Technology Activities at the Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL).
The CNL recently completed a 10-Year Plan that lays out an exciting vision that builds on the long and proud history of nuclear science and technology that began in Canada with the Chalk River Laboratories in the 1940’s. CNL’s diverse capabilities have contributed to the full spectrum of nuclear technology in Canada: mining, fuel production, reactor design, nuclear power generation, decommissioning, remediation, waste management, nuclear medicine, materials science, imaging, nuclear safety, regulation and governance. This presentation will discuss the 10-Year Plan vision and the path to realizing it, and highlight recent accomplishments. A short biography of Dr. McCarthy is attached.
So please be sure to join us at this fine venue for this prestigious event, the first CNS Ottawa Branch event of the fall season! Both CNS members and non-members are welcome. However, SPACE is limited so do not delay, tell your friends and book today.
Please RSVP: to Wei Shen ( firstname.lastname@example.org ) by Sunday, 10th September, to reserve a seat. Please pay at the door: by cash or cheque made payable to “CNS Ottawa”. Any cancellation after September 10th or no show will be invoiced.
