Summary

Dr. Ozemoyah will reflect upon the origins of the Society, and will outline how its programs presently serve the public, the school educational system, university students, industry, and indeed, all sectors of the nuclear community across Canada. He will also identify the many unique opportunities and benefits that accrue to those who are members (and would-be members) of the Society. Finally, in a look to the future, Dr. Ozemoyah will discuss from his vantage point, the program expansion activities that are currently underway in the ‘Society, and where he sees the organization in the years ahead.

Biography
Dr. Peter Ozemoyah has a Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT Chicago), and PhD in the same field from the University of Benin. Part of his work was the study of the Effect of Reducing Gases on Polarization of Electrodes.

In February 2011, Peter joined Tyne Engineering as Process Engineer and Project Manager. He quickly rose to become the Manager of Projects Department of the Company, and later, Head of the Process Systems Division. Currently, Peter Heads the Business Services Division of Tyne Engineering. Before joining Tyne Engineering, Peter had worked as a Professor at several Universities and Colleges in North America and in Africa.

Peter has served and is currently serving as Board member and as chairman of several other professional, not-for-profit organizations, including being president of a Rotary Club, and the chairman of Parents Support Committee of the Royal Canadian Army Cadets of Brampton, Ontario. Peter is also an Executive member of the Toronto Section of the Chemical Institute of Canada (CIC).

Following the seminar, we will be meeting for lunch at 1:15 pm at the Phoenix Bar and Grill, on McMaster Campus. Everyone is invited, but please let me know (sharpejr@mcmaster.ca) by Tuesday Feb 14th so I can make a reservation.

In addition, for CNS members only, lunch will be provided to the first 4 student members, and first 4 non-student members, on a first come, first serve basis (alcohol will not be provided, but is available). Please email and let me know whether or not you’re a student. Vegetarian options are also available at the Phoenix.
