CNS Annual Conference 2020 has been cancelled

Because of the uncertainty around travel within Canada from several self-imposed temporary travel restrictions, the probability of having a successful event in 2020 was judged to be very low. Consequently, the 40TH ANNUAL CNS CONFERENCE & 44TH CNS-CNA STUDENT CONFERENCE, May 31 – Jun 3, 2020, Hilton Saint John, Saint John, NB, has been cancelled. Registrants, Sponsors and Exhibitors that have committed to the event will be contacted by the Conference Organizing Committee. The CNS Annual Conference is a popular event for the Canadian nuclear industry and we regret having to take this action. We apologize for any inconvenience this decision may have caused, but feel it is the responsible and prudent thing to do in light of current happenings.

Three smaller events (CNS CANDU REACTOR TECHNOLOGY & SAFETY COURSECNS CANDU REACTOR TECHNOLOGY & SAFETY COURSE and NUCLEAR 101) scheduled prior to the CNS Annual Conference are under review and announcements will be made soon.

It is still intended to hold two large events (2ND INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON GENERATION IV AND SMALL REACTORS ( G4SR-2) and CANDU Maintenance & Nuclear Components Conference) scheduled for November 2020. Of course, the CNS will continue to closely monitor the COVID-19 situation and will react accordingly. If participants whose countries get included in the Canadian Government’s COVID019 travel restriction after they have registered, CNS will refund their registration fee.

Sincerely,

Keith Stratton;

President, Canadian Nuclear Society
